The Day I Rode a Bike Without Training Wheels

I was in Alabama in 2010 and it was a shiny, beautiful day. I got a new bike that was without the training wheels. I got on the bike and once I got on the bike, I fell. Neshana told me" You not leaving or going to ride your bike without learning it on your own". I was devastated because I did't believe I could do it. It took me about 10 times to accomplish this challenge. I did it for 5 seconds and I fell again. The bruises and scrapes were on me and I did once again. It worked and ever since, I found out if you believe, you can do anything. My Dad was so proud and I was a happy boy that day.

Harrison Bergeron

In "Harrison Bergeron", a 14-year old boy was arrested for being a genius. Harrison,s parents were smart also, so they had to be a type of avenge. George, Harrison's dad, had a handicap radio in his ear if he thinks of something. The mother was just very confused and dumb. Harrison so escapes from jail and went on the new television station. I soon wondered why he just went to the station.
He did that because he wanted to be the leader of this peculiar community. The ballerinas had to cover their face because they were beautiful. I also wondered why they always want the people to stay the same. Harrison kissed the ballerina  on the ceiling and Harrison was shot and killed by a shotgun. This story really creep-ed me out and I was scared.

Dear 13-Year Old

Have as much fun with your friends as possible. The days in middle school will be fun and do everything as possible because once you turn 14, your childhood is basically over. You will be treated like a grown up ans have high expectations. Go to parties and dances. The memories will eventually fade away quickly. Your best friend may go to a different high school or your boyfriend may go to high school in Canada. Make memories and once the fun is over, you will remember it.
Your parents are going to make you buy your own things such as shoes and clothes. You will have more homework in high school and you are going to be upset. Middle school is not the same as high school. You have to meet new people and teachers. your going to have to have to step your game up. Being mature and stop being childish will determine what type of student you are. Learn from my mistakes...... not studying for a test  two days early would make a parents explode.

Anne Frank: Week 2

In "Anne Frank's: The Diary of a Young Girl", she talks about the Annexe her family stays in during the Holocaust. She states that the Annexe was at her father's job. The place was on the ground floor and it was very tight. The beds were close together. The bathroom had no window and the storeroom had a lot of room.                                                                                                                      The Annexe had 3 floors and they had to be very silent. If they heard gunshots, they had a quick light to keep them safe. She stated that her mom was very mean, but her father understood her more. That tells the audience that she had a better relationship with her father. The one thing that I think is that the family don't know she is writing these journal  entries.

9/11

The story of 9/11 was the most tragic, depressing event in American history. During the morning of September 11, 2001, the Twin Towers were hit by 2 planes that killed a lot three thousand people. The United States was more curious about the  terrorist attacks and the scary screams of people frightened the streets of New York. The ashes and black smoke spread-ed around the sky.
The hijackers hijacked four planes and also hit the Pentagon. The plane killed  a lot of workers. They soon realized that this was a sign of war, stated by Bush[president at the time of 9/11]. Bin Laden was the main target for the U.S. This tragic event was the saddest moment in U.S history.

Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl

This week on Anne Frank's diary, she talks about how she got her diary that she names Kitty and the people that she knows well. At the beginning, she tells us that she got Kitty on her birthday. She states that "you was the the first thing I saw". In the statement, she was referring to Kitty and she said it was one of her nicest presents. I love how she includes the dates of the days she wrote and how her days went. She soon explains the people in her in class. For example, she said she hates J.R . She describes the girl as a" sneaky,stuck-up,two-faced gossip who thinks she's so grown-up".D.Q is a nervous girl who's always forgetting things
She goes on about the people that was in her class. She had about 20 people in her class and one day she meets a guy named Hello. She describes how Germany was at the time of her life. She said that Jewish people where restricted to riding cars, to use swimming pools, and see Christians in their homes. They were required to attend Jewish schools, were required to frequent only Jewish barbershops and beauty salon. She said she lived with her grandmother and soon moved with her parents and sister.

When I Got In My First High School Football Game

It was a nice Friday night when I got in the football game.It was the start of the game and most of the freshman didn't play. I was afraid because the kids who played in the game were bigger, faster, and stronger. I thought I was too small to play with those type of players. It was the 4th quarter when I got in. The team was cheering me on to get in this huge game. Coach let me in and when they called my name, the crowd of girls were cheering and the sideline was happy for me. I was on offense and I just blocked. I felt like I was the biggest kid in the whole stadium. I got on defense, too. I should've had two tackles in a row, but the fear of getting ran over was in my head. They took me out, but I was the happiest man on earth. A girl asked for my autograph on her arm. We won 47-14 against Christian Life and it was the best "knight" of my life.

The Black Boy

This week in the book" Black Boy", Richard shows how his family was poor and how he had to live without his father. He explains how he started a fire in his grandmother's house when he was only 4. Richard described his grandmother as" old, wrinkled, and sick". He started a fire because he states that he was bored and wondered what will happen if he burned a curtain with broom straws. He started the fire, which was dangerous because he had a sick grandmother who could barely move. He also states that he hid under the burning house with fear and sadness.  Richard heard his mother's scream that made him cry. No one was killed or hurt,  but Richard was petrified. He was pulled by his mother and he was not whipped or in trouble because he was not aware.
After the massive fire, he moved to Memphis by a "tiny, dirty boat" that he didn't imagine. They moved in a one room apartment. When his father was sleep, a kitten made loud noises that woke his father up. The father told Richard to kill it. He hung it and his mother was upset and told him not to kill him literally. They buried the kitten and he was scared on the day he killed the kitten. He soon explains that his father left his mother with him and his brother and they had to eat after the"white folks" because his mother was a maid . He had to fight a gang to get food for his mother at the grocery store. The chapter shows how he had a rough and hard fought childhood.
