Human Nature

Human nature is a way of how people feel or act. I believe human nature is not fundamental for people in this world. I believe people have to learn to be a good person or a bad person. For example, hate is not anything that comes natural. You are not born to hate anyone. You have to have a reason or learn why you hate.
The event that led me to this belief was going to school. In kindergarten, the teacher would teach you how to develop good manners. For example, the teacher would give you a treat and the teacher ask what do you say and you answered thank you. If you was asked a question, you were taught to answer the question. You were taught to be nice to one another. It did not become natural.Human nature is a thing you have to learn.

Lord of the Flies

In "Lord of the Flies", a choir full of boys' plane crashed on an mysterious island. The fair boy was named Ralph and the fat boy was Piggy. They searched the area for other boys and help, but never found them. Piggy found a conch in the ocean waters and Piggy used it as a whistle. He blew the conch and a choir of boys on the plane appeared. The boys introduce themselves and one of the characters was named Jack. The choir chose Jack to be the leader. The group of boys searched to see if it was an island.
The choir was in search for food and warmth. The choir was separated into groups; hunters and gatherers. Some of the children gathered leaves and sticks for a fire and the others hunted for the only source of food;pigs. They had no way to light the fire at first, but took Piggy's glass to reflect the sun to the sticks and leaves. The fire was lit for a while, but could never stay. The choir noticed that a boy was missing and might have died from the fire that was created. They are now in need of shelter.

My Wild Weekend featuring Jackson Sate vs. Southern

On October 15, 2016, the biggest game of the year in the SWAC was about to start. The game between Jackson State University and Southern was intense before the game even started. The bands was clashing and they were playing different songs. The noise was so loud and I was feeling the music. Southern was playing "Controlla" and Jackson State was playing " Father Stretch My Hands Pt. 1". The trash talking started very early and the trash talking was all over the atmosphere. Jackson State was struggling early by giving up a rushing touchdown. It was 7-0 and the fans were already down. The Southern fans were saying,"Look at the scoreboard" and I was looking. They were winning. The second quarter was the best for Jackson State. We blocked a punt and scored a touchdown. The third quarter was bad. Southern shut us down and we made so many mistakes on defense. The fourth quarter was a nail-biter for everyone. We kept them at 28 by scaring them with our good defense. The play that killed us was the punt. We punted and Southern kept the ball for 5 minutes to win the game. I was very upset about the decision. My friends stated that they were going to "smash us", but only won by 4 points. That was very funny.

The Black Boy: Week 2

In "The Black Boy", Richard was sent to an orphanage because his mother was poor and his father left her with him and his brother. Richard said he was afraid and it was boring. His mom visited the orphanage at first and soon didn't come anymore. He ran away into the streets because he hated the new home. He went into the streets that he described as " dangerous, dark and the trees looked frightening". As he went into the streets, he looked at the "white" policemen. He states that the he is afraid of the "white" policemen because he thought he was going to beat him.
Richard told the policemen that he ran away and after he was fed at the police station. Miss Simon, the owner of the orphanage, was waiting at the orphanage and was angry. She yanked him and Richard states that he was "sobbing" and went to sleep. The next morning, his mother came to tell him that they will leave and go to Arkansas. They went to Richard's father house to beg for money.Richard states that  he " doesn't want to talk to his father and he hates him. The father and a woman laughed at them and he asked Richard if he wanted to stay with him. He disagreed and they left the house. The three are now heading to Arkansas to live with his aunt's house.

Should We Abandon Louisiana by Zack Kopplin

In "Should We Abandon Louisiana", the main idea is the recent outcomes of the flooding and how Louisiana is having difficult time. The author told the audience about the results of the flooding such as "13 people have died and ten of thousands have been evacuated around Baton Rouge, Louisiana". Most of the victims from the devastating flood didn't have flood insurance to cover their homes. The victims are also using FEMA, or Federal Emergency Management Agency, to " only keep disaster victims safe, sanitary and secure", stated on page 2. The author also states that it was not suppose to hit Louisiana. The climate change was the reason for this historic flood. The coastal erosion is also a problem in the state of Louisiana. I believe the author agrees with the statement to "abandon Louisiana" because the author is providing the negative outcomes if we stay in the state of Louisiana. The is stating how fast coastal erosion is happening and how we may have to relocate to a different place. I also believe he may believe in rebuilding our homes, but doesn't seem to believe it could be done.

Anne Frank: Week 2{ Rewritten}

In "Anne Frank's: The Diary of a Young Girl", she talks about the Annexe her family stays in during the Holocaust. She states that the Annexe was at her father's job. The place was on the ground floor and it was very tight. The beds were close together. The bathroom had no window and the storeroom had a lot of room. The main conflict of this story is to stay away for Hitler and the Nazis. Hitler hates Jews and wants to destroy as many as he can.                                                                                The Annexe had 3 floors and they had to be very silent. If they heard gunshots, they had a quick light to keep them safe. She stated that her mom was very mean, but her father understood her more. That tells the audience that she had a better relationship with her father. The one thing that I realized is that the family don't know she is writing these journal entries. The furniture was tight and the people living in the Annexe was crowded

My Weekend

My weekend brought a lot of memories to my mind. I packed up and we were heading to the the great city of Jackson, Mississippi to the Jackson State game When we arrived, the beautiful, clear skies surrounded the city of Jackson. My mom was putting lip stick on and my Pops putting on his Jordans. We started to walk and went to go get our tickets. My friends started to ask me " What is that college", which surprised me because the college is a well known Historical Black Colleges and Universities{HBCU}. We arrived at our seats and I could only look at one place. The left corner of the Tiger Stadium. My granddaddy Tillman spent his last moments of his life in that area. The game was full of proud fans and the Mississippi Valley fans were proud of their  14-3 to start the game.
Jackson Sate struck back and got an interception and scored to make it a 14-10 game. It was soon halftime and the score was 16-14. During halftime,Hall of Famer Jerry Rice went on the field to accept an award. He came to the game because he attended Mississippi Valley before he went o the NFL. The game stayed at 16-14 and JSU won. I went to my Nanna's house and that ended my weekend because I had to come home and do homework.

Anne Frank: Week 3

In "Anne Frank: A Diary of a Young Girl",  Anne Frank and her family finds out that the Germans are gassing the Jews and calling them 'fatal accidents', according to pages 54 and 55. Anne Frank felt terrible and a lady named Miep is crying and a another lady named Bep is 'subdued, stated in page 54. The city of Algier has fallen from a potential bombing from the Germans. After the tragic events the family heard from the the radio, the family allows a new member into the Annexe. The new member is stated on page 65 that the new member named Dr. Dussel and is going to be explained the rules and procedures of the secret hideout for Jews.
The rules and procedures included restricted things and the time that everything happens. On pages 66-68, the rules said"the rest hours are from 10:00 to 7:30; 10:15 on Sundays"........."can't read German books"......."Courses in English,French, maths, and history is offered". Dr. Dussel didn't process all the rules at once and asked Anne Frank, in her words, "he asked all sorts of questions".The family celebrates  Hanukkah and St. Nicholas' Day. St. Nicholas' Day was fun to Anne Frank and Hanukkah was ok to her. The story is getting better and I highly reccommended this book.
